Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

Cheesy Green Bean Casserole recipe
The green bean casserole just upped the ante. You'll love this stuffing-and-cheese-studded version so much, you'll be creating holidays just to have an excuse to make it.

This is my favorite green bean casserole recipe!! I won't make any other kind!! Made it for 35 people for Christmas Eve, was a huge hit. Love the variation.

I used this recipe for New Years dinner but substituted the velveeta with cheddar cheese instead as shown in the What's Cooking magazine that Kraft puts out. The long green beans although slender were on the chewy side so I think I would use the french cut beans the next time and I would use 2 packages of the Stove Top as everyone enjoyed that over the saucy part. I might also cut back on the amount of soup used and also bake this casserole longer than the 40 minutes. Not everyone enjoyed this. I had mixed reviews.

This version is so much better than the one with french-fried onions, even my picky teens liked it!

OMG! I hate Green Bean Casserole and have had to make it 3 times a year for my hubby and for good measure (to show the kids) eat it. I made this because I love stuffing and cheese. I couldn't really choke down any more regular green bean casserole and was willing to try ANY variation. I did and LOVE this! It was amazing and I didn't have a problem eating leftovers!

I made this recipe for Christmas dinner. It was very good... however, I made one change, my husband is allergic to mushrooms, so I used cream of celery soup instead of cream of mushroom. Really enjoyed it! Will make it again!
