The flavor of the lime really made the soup. I added a can of pinto beans to the soup. When I served the soup I put broken tortilla chips in the bottom of the bowl.

Great soup with a fresh taste and a bit of a bite! We added some corn (always trying to add those veggies) which was very good. We also cut some tortillas into strips, baked them in the oven while the soup cooked, then crumbled the strips on top of the soup before serving. If you love spicy food, this one's for you.

Woaza! looks the perfect recipe! jus add bit more seasoning (cajun is great or a bit of spicier stuff) and use chicken stock - always works better. i'd seve with a good crusty bread and refreshing fruit salad. oooooh, can't wait ( and who'd think it was healthy - me, and health - Ha!:D

I thought that there was too much lime in this recipe. Once I added more water to dilute the lime flavor it was better. My husband felt that it needed something else; such as another vegetable. I'll probably try this recipe again, but I'll add corn or beans to the mix. I did not add the chili peppers to this recipe. Although, I did add crushed red pepper to my bowl of soup, which had a nice bite.
