As far as adding chocolatemy wife has been adding chocolate morsels to her beef chile. everyone who has it ask for recipe. also the secret of famous cincinnati chile, commercial and home is chocolate.

for the chocolate lover, is great but i still like mine the old way. w/o chocolate but it's my choice. try it you may just love it. i have passed it to freind and she loves it and the chocolate flavor, too.

I think this is very good, but I did add more spices to it. I have made chili several times with cocoa and also cinnamon and it is not chocolaty tasting, just makes it richer and more satisfying. I also made some the other day with a bit of brown sugar and ketchup in it also without the cocoa, and it was fabulous. So you see chili can be made anyway and still be great.

My kids whom are picky eaters loved this. They thought oh boy chocolate with dinner. This is an excellent treat.

This was delicious and I also added the healthy heart additive of cinnamon, about 1tsp per pot.

any thing with chocolate can't be bad like years ago when they started using chili sauce and grape jelly who knew

The recipe itself doesnt sound bad but I Would NOT do the Choc!!! they just dont go together. the rest of sounds o.k. though

I think the combination will make the chili a lot more tasty since the chocolate and tomato sauce are about the same consistency therby making the chili thicker. Also the chocolate is not sweetened. It's like adding mayonnaise or applesauce to recipes.
