Chocolate Chunk-Banana Bread

What You Need

cups flour

cup sugar

tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder

1/4

tsp. salt

eggs

cup mashed fully ripe bananas (about 3)

1/3

cup oil

1/4

cup milk

1-1/2

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate (6 oz.), coarsely chopped

1/2

cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MIX flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl; set aside. Stir eggs, bananas, oil and milk in large bowl until well blended. Add dry ingredients; stir just until moistened. Stir in chopped chocolate and nuts.

POUR into greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.

BAKE 55 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 min.; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.

I was out of baking powder so I made these in a square glass dish as banana bars. Baked for 42 minutes. They were moist and flavorful. I also substituted sugar for Splenda.

I made this item. However, I altered the recipe. I added vanilla flavor,allspice,cinnamon and used butter instead of oil. I omitted the chocolate and nuts. My sons loved the bread.

I have made this bread twice and each time was dissappointed. Not enough flavor.

Needs a bit more flavor. I would add a touch of vanilla the next time I make this.

This is a hit with me! I really enjoyed everything about it. I did not add the nuts because of my kids but I am sure that would make it better. What a great recipe to use ripened bananas and chocolate!! This is my favorite recipe for banana bread.

very good, I used mini chocolate chips in place of chunks and omitted the nuts. It was very moist.
