i've made this twice & it's ALOT of chili. I added my own spices & chili mac to the recipe but it's a good guideline, it's just alot fo Chili for 3 people ! i brought some in to work & they all loved it !
Very tasty! We cut the recipe in half and still had too much.
This chili is great! Such an easy recipe for a quick meal on a work night. I cut the recipe in half & it still makes TONS. We froze the leftovers & whey thawed out, they tasted just as good as the first time around!
I made this yesterday for our annual Halloween party - and it will definitely be made for the party next year! The only change I made was using veggie "meat" instead of ground beef - it was a hit even for the non veggies at the party!
I would not make this recipe again. I followed the recipe to a T. I would recommend ommiting the cinnamon. The cinnamon made it unedible. Also, it tasted like it had something missing, so I would add sage and a little bit of sugar. Didn't taste exactly homemade. Probably would taste better with dry beans. No one went for seconds and my husband hated it. I've tried several recipes from Kraft and this is the first one that wasn't good. Also, I didn't care too much for the combination of the beans it called for. Cut the recipe in half unless you are feeding the entire city.
I liked this it was good but I didn't follow to a "T". I used dried beans, ground turkey, no tomato paste, and added my own seasons but as a guide it turned out good.
I love this recipe. It's my favorite chili recipe - so much so that I've made it over and over again. It also freezes beautifully!
I have been making this recipe for years but I use ground turkey instead of ground beef and substitute a large can of crushed tomatoes and a can of Rotel tomatoes for the can of tomato paste in this recipe. As for seasoning I use Carroll Shelby's dried chili mix, It has the chili powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and masa flour in indivdual bags. I don't add all the cayenne then it is too hot! This makes it easy for me and in about one hour I have chili. Have to have the sour cream and we put cheddar cheese on top. I also cut up whatever kind of onion I have on hand (green/red/yellow) for some extra oomph. My husband loves this chili and so does my five year old son. My son said that this is the best chili ever.
it was very good though i didnt put the sour cream i used cheese instead. my family loves it
I would omit the cinnamon....otherwise, great. I added yellow pepper along with the green for color more than flavor. I also omitted one can of pintos and added a second can of diced tomatoes. Added a dash of sugar to offset the acid in the tomatoes. Used shredded cheddar cheese instead of the sour cream.
