pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Gelatin, any flavor

cup warm water

1-3/4

cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows, divided

pieces red string licorice (1 in.)

cup ready-to-spread vanilla frosting

Make It

MIX gelatin and water in medium microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 1-1/2 min.; stir until gelatin is completely dissolved.

SET aside 12 of the marshmallows. Add remaining marshmallows to gelatin; stir until well blended. Microwave on HIGH 1 min. or until marshmallows are partially melted. Stir with wire whisk until marshmallows are completely melted. Pour into 9-in. square pan sprayed with cooking spray.

REFRIGERATE 45 min. or until set. Run sharp knife around edges of pan to loosen gelatin layer from pan. Starting at one short end, roll up gelatin layer tightly. Cut into 12 (3/4-inch-thick) strips. Refrigerate, covered, until ready to decorate.

UNROLL each about 1 inch. Stand 1 of the reserved marshmallows on unrolled portion of each spiral for the "snail's body," securing with frosting. Insert 2 pieces of licorice into each marshmallow for "antennae," securing with additional frosting, if desired.

Prepare gelatin mixture as directed, doubling all ingredients. Pour into 13x9-inch pan. Refrigerate as directed. For ease in handling, cut gelatin mixture in half crosswise before rolling up. Roll up each half separately, making a total of 2 rolls. Cut each roll into 12 slices. Decorate as directed. Makes 24 servings, 1 snail each.

It is a fun snack for my 2 year old and my 3 year old nephew.They love the snail soup.That's what they call it.

Seems some of you have had problems with this recipe! I tried this (made these for my grandson's classroom and they loved them)....I took some of the icing and made it green and spread it very lightly over the jelly roll up before rolling, covered the roll up (once rolled) with plastic wrap before putting in the refrigerator and I took the plastic off, cut them just before I was ready to take them to the party, put the marshmallows on and they stayed together just fine. Some times you have to find ways to fine tune a good recipe. Weather has alot to do with how well these turn out also!!! Put these on top of the "Brownie Mud Puddle Cake" and it will make you a winner with all the children. Enjoy!!! Remember you can use different gelatin flavors, so if your child is not fond of lime, use cherry or what ever....it's for children and they will love you for it!!!

I thought this would be a cute idea to take to my son's playschool class for his birthday. However, I could not get the 'snails' to stay rolled up. I tried to make the twice and the second time followed the instructions VERY carefully, with still no luck. If anyone can help, please do.
