I purchased a cooked roasting chicken and tore the meat off the bone, and substituted it for the ham. That eliminated the saltiness! I may try it with shrimp and crabneat next time for a nice chance. It is a very adaptable recipe, quick and very tasty!

I am not an cream of celery fan but I think you could substitute Cream of Asparagus, Cream of Mushroom, or the newest south of the border (there is one like the sauce for chicken suisa) soups and they would work beautifully.

This was simple to make and we enjoyed it very much. Would make a good meal to share with guests over lunch.

I read everybody elses comments and than made this dish. I boiled the ham prior to cutting it up and putting it in the recipe. I also used low sodium soup due to my mother has high blood pressure and must watch her salt intake. I also pre-cooked the asparagus a little prior to making dish. It turned out really good.

Like a lot of other folks, I believe this recipe is too salty. I used broccoli instead of asparagus and that was good. I think using low sodium soup and cheese might make this a lot better!

I thought my husband would think this was a wierd recipe, but he gobbled up 1/2 the pan!! The mixture of the asparagus, ham, and swiss cheese is delicious, and we love stove top, so this was a wonderful recipe for our household!!

I might try this with low sodium stove top, soup and cheese, otherwise this was too salty to enjoy.

It was pretty good, but a little salty. Next time I'll use the low sodium soup! Also, asparagus needs to be cooked slightly before adding to recipe!

We don't care fpr asparagus so I substituted green beans and cream of muchroom soup. Was very good this way too.
