What You Need

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Tbsp. butter or margarine

3/4

cup sugar

eggs

tsp. vanilla

1-1/4

cups flour, divided

1/2

tsp. baking soda

3/4

cup water

Chocolate Glaze (see Tip)

cup mixed fresh berries (blueberries and raspberries)

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MICROWAVE chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.

ADD sugar; beat with mixer until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each until blended. Beat in vanilla. Add 1/4 cup flour and baking soda; mix well. Gradually beat in remaining flour alternately with water. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch round pan.

BAKE 30 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 min.; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack. Drizzle with Chocolate Glaze and top with berries just before serving.

Chocolate Glaze

Microwave 3 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, 2 Tbsp. whipping cream and 1 Tbsp. butter in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended.

This is a great and simple cake! Just be sure to grab a big ol' frosty glass of milk. Makes a great compliment to the cake!

The cake was very good; moist. The glaze was a little bitter so I dusted it with powdered sugar...pretty and it added just a little sweetness.

I made this recipe in my foods class and everyone loved it. It was the first time that this cake was ever made in our foods class and everyone thought we did a great job. It's a great recipe and easy to do. Every one should try it.
