I love this dish so I asked my husband to rate since this was his first time eating it. He said it was very good. He hates beans so i warmed the beans in the mirco and topped his tortillas first with the rice mixture. Then i added beans to the mix and topped mine. This is pretty healthy and has great flavor. It does have alot of sodium but that's because it calls for lots of canned items. I used a little bit less cheese and more fresh vegetables like tomatoes and green peppers to cut a few calories.

This has become a regular at our house. It doesn't even need the tortilla with all the good stuff in there!

This recipe is great. I don't purchase the taco bell kit. I just buy separate tostada's and seasoning. I sometimes stir in some Boca soy crumbles depending on my mood.

I must admit this black bean & rice tostada looks delicious. I surely can't wait till I make it myself. Hopefully mine looks just like this picture.

I LOVED this recipe!!!! I took some of the other comments into consideration when I made it. I made half tostada bowls and the other half flat. I also added some precooked fajita meat.
