What You Need

Tbsp. butter

Tbsp. olive oil

medium onion, thinly sliced

cloves garlic, minced

cups uncooked instant white rice

can (14-1/2 oz.) chicken or vegetable broth, warmed

1/2

cup milk

bunch (1 lb.) asparagus, trimmed, chopped into 2-inch pieces

1/3

cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided

1/8

tsp. each salt and pepper

Make It

MELT butter with olive oil in a deep skillet on medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook 2 to 3 minutes. Do not brown.

TOSS in rice and stir to coat the rice. Add warm broth, milk and asparagus.

BRING to a boil over medium heat; simmer for 5 minutes over low heat. Mix in 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese just before serving.

This was extraordinary! I've never had risotto, nor have I really had asparagus by itself, so I was a little nervous. Imagine my surprise! The flavors were divine ... I didn't realize it would be so flavorful ... after all it is RICE. But it was delicious ... everyone thought so.

Making this again tonight. We've made it mulitple times and it is such a big hit with the entire family. For a extra touch, I add chicken to it and it makes it even more delicious. Great recipe

It was good, I only added half the bunch and it still seemed like too much asparagus, but it was pretty good.

I subsituted zucchini for asparagus and it turned out well. It did take longer to cook than the recipe said. Overall, it was a good dsh.

Wonderful! I got tons of good comments about this dish! It has a very light flavor and the crispness of the asparagus gives it a nice texture. I served it with paresan crusted chicken. Very filling and satisfying.

Wow!! Easy to make and everyone enjoyed. i will make this again for sure but possibly substitute asparagus for other veggies.

Very quick and easy, used mushrooms, a little dry but good flavor. Will make again and add a touch more liquid.
