This is wonderful! Adding a half cup of milk makes a huge difference. I will use this recipe from now on.
I love these things, my mom also used to make them! But I like pork sausage for a better flavor (you can get lean for a low-fat diet). Also, my family like spicy so my mother used to make one batch with all spicy sausage and another wth half spicy half regular and it was awesome! I would make this again, but as I did with this recipe, pork, not turkey!
The ingredients are nice and simple. They are a good appetizer/snack.
These had a good flavor but were somewhat hard when done.
I make these all the time. I add chopped onions and minced garlic, salt and pepper. These are wonderful but set aside some time to roll all these into 1" balls
Delicious! You wouldn't know that it was lower fat. Also, I had to add more milk, it was sticking enough.
I doubled the recipe and had a hard time getting all the baking mix to mix in. They were flavorful enough, since I put them on a buffet with some other pretty rich foods. Everyone commented that they liked them because they weren't as greasy as most recipes.
I have been making a similar recipe for years. The main differnce however, is 3 cups Bisquick ....and 1/2 tsp... or more of Tabasco sauce. I believe the hot sauce is the answer to all the complaints about the Kraft recipe being bland. I am attemptig to reduce the calories in this yummy snack and plan to replace the Hot Sausage with Turkey Sausage and use 2% Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Also, my recipe calls for 1/4 cup warm water and /2 tsp. of dry mustard. Don't forget to add some hot sauce!
My mom use to make these every year around the holidays. They were my favorite!! I am going to make them this Monday for the big BCS college football Championship game. I hope I can make them as good as mom.
I make these Sausage balls every year around the holidays. Everyone loves them.
