This soup is delicious, I added a small can of tomatoe sauce to spice it up a bit. My family loved it. Also, instead of sausage I used my leftover ham bone for the broth. Cooled it & took the meat off & whala; Excellent bean soup

Great! Cooked the beans much longer until they thickened the broth themselves rather than adding something to do so, otherwise it would have been too "juicy" and less flavorful. Added more rosemary and garlic to turn it up a little. Served it with the parmesan cheese topping and mexican cornbread. Next time I am going to add a little cayenne pepper to the soup itself. Try it yourself!!
