This is so good, but i made several changes to it.. i put in apples, grapes, oranges, strawberries and instead of using the mayo and stuff, i used fat free vanilla flavored yogurt and it was delicious! Everyone loved it!!

I didn't use the Sour cream or the mayo.. We had something like this in Hawaii, but with Yogart.. I make this with non-fat strawberry yogart, also no grapefruit..used oranges instead... Actually you can use any fruit you chose..throw in some grapes, bananas, canned pineapples in its own juice if you cannot find fresh, kewi, Apples ect. This is so refreshing in the summer, and everyone seems to love it.. I make a big bowl of it, and served it with a BBQ.. This can even be served as a desert, in brandy glasses, or I have cut papaya's in half, and put all the fruit on the top of it, on a flat desert plate for each person...

I had to substitute oranges for grapefruit as I can not eat it and substituted blue berries for cranberries. It makes a delicious tropical fruit salad. We love fruit and especially this receipe, I have left the oranges out and added keewee.

I've tried a similar recipe with peeled and diced plums, the tart flavor tastes great with the sweet pineapple and mango! also, these fruits taste great combined with no dressing at all, the natural juices make it moist enough.

I made this using lemon yogurt and it turned out great! And the lemon kept the fruit from turning brown.

To the cook on 4/26/05, this is called a fruit SALAD, that would explain the mayo and sour cream. Have you ever had a Waldorf Salad? This is very similar to that type. I have made many variations of this salad, this one is great. Mandarine oranges and bananas work great also.
