what you need

medium sweet potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed

cup firmly packed dark brown sugar

1/2

cup sweetened condensed milk

1/4

cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted

Tbsp. flour

tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2

tsp. ground nutmeg

eggs, slightly beaten

tsp. vanilla

unbaked 9-inch pastry shell

1-1/2

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Mix sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, butter, flour, spices, eggs and vanilla in large bowl until blended.

POUR into pastry shell. (Shell will be quite full; filling will not rise over sides.)

BAKE 30 to 35 minutes or until top is puffed and browned. (Filling will be soft, but will set while cooling.) Cool on wire rack at least 2 hours. Serve each slice with 2 tablespoons whipped topping.

I was looking for a good recipe for Sweet Potato Pie and I found a great one. This was great, now it's my job to make the Sweet Potato Pie for all holidays

The pie was rich and creamy. Just sweet enough, not to sweet ,it let the flavor of the yams shine through.

My dad loved his mother's recipie until he tasted this recipie I cooked for him. My recipie won hands down - overall, he ate 4 pies in the month I was home. Also, instead of 1/2 tsp nutmeg, I put in 1 tsp for an extra kick.

This was soooo easy to make and my grandmother would've been proud (best cook on my dad's side). It tasted just like the one grandma used to make. Thanks for taking out the mysteriousness of making a good pie!!! My family loved it!!

My family absolutly loved this recipe. I used a little less cinnamon and nutmeg. I will definitley make this again!
