I was suprised how good this recipe turned out, it tasted delicious. I would definitely make this again.

This was good, but I followed some of the other cooks ideas, I added more beef boullion to the water and I put in some mozzerella cheese before the bread and swiss on top. Mmm!

To make this soup better, I followed some of the other suggestions. I did not add any water and I used a can of beef consume. I also let it sit in the refridgerator for a couple overs before simmering. It turned out very tasty!

Excellent basic recipe-a keeper but I will try to vary it each time with different seasonings, other cheeses and variable whole grain breads.

I added more beef broth in place of so much water, a dash of sherry, cooked the onions for a few minutes in the microwave so it didn't take so long to brown

Love French Onion soup. However I did add a bit of dry red wine to this recipe and use sweet yellow onions.
