I made the recipe with my kids today as a fun summer project. I used the 1/3 less fat cream cheese and the Lite Cool Whip. I wasn't crazy about the taste/texture of the cream cheese and I think that 16 ozs. is too much. The cake is very sweet (I did not add the fruit) and the boys did not like the cream cheese in the middle. I think next time I will reduce the cream cheese to 8 ozs of regular and use more cool whip. Also, when I added my red jello to the top of the cream cheese it blended with the cream cheese center to make it pink. I will definitely let the red jello sit longer than 5 minutes or put it in the fridge for 10 minutes or so. Overall, a very nice cake.

This is a no fail recipe for an extremely creamy, fruity, tasty summer treat. I too made it for the 4th of July, but since have made it using the same fruits just not the flag pattern. EVERYONE OOOOOOOOOOOWWW`ed and ahhhhhhhh`ed not just at the colorful presentation, but at the blend of flavors. I have used low fat and no fat ingredients both times with the same results. This is a easy recipe for anyone, and a winner for everyone!

I made this for a fish fry over the 4th of July weekend and it was a hit! Everyone loved the design. My 5 year old helped decorate. I used sugar fee jello and low fat cream cheese. It worked out great!

My friend made this for a get together and it was spectacular! I have been looking for my copy of Kraft Kitchens Food and Family at home to make it myself. It is a perfect blend of flavors.

We made this with sugar-free jell-o, fat free cool whip, and angelfood cake. No loss of flavor! Kids and adults loved it. Light and not too sweet, everyone wants me to make it a regular at out house. Enjoy!
