We all loved it, including my husband who is not a dessert person. I had all the ingredients at home already. I'll definitely make it again, maybe for thanksgiving. I did not use the silvered almonds. Very easy to make.

I never made a cheese cake before, and this was very easy to make. My wife was very surprised that I made it all by myself and it was very good.

I made this yesterday and this morning there was 1 piece left. My daughter-in-law said it tasted store bought but she helped me make it and knew better.

I added about 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg to the crust. I found the apples hard to slice through and next time will probably chop them. (The cinnamon-sugar mixture covered the apples so much that you couldn't see them anyway!) It is a delicious, easy recipe!!

This sounds very similar to the Pear Torte in this month's magazine which I would easily give more than 5 stars for. It is wonderful.
