Slow-Cooker Sweet & Sour Pork

Put this in the slow cooker in the morning and come home to a pork-and-rice dish that combines tangy barbecue sauce with sweet and tender pineapple.

What You Need

1-1/2

lb. boneless pork loin, cut into 1-inch pieces

onion, chopped

can (14-1/2 oz.) chicken broth

3/4

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce

can (8 oz.) pineapple chunks in juice, drained

green pepper, chopped

cups instant white rice, uncooked

Make It

PLACE meat in slow cooker; top with onions.

ADD broth and barbecue sauce; cover with lid. Cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours (or on HIGH 4 hours).

STIR in remaining ingredients. Cook, covered, on LOW 30 min. or until rice is tender.

Substitute

Substitute 1 bottle (10 oz.) KRAFT Sweet 'N Sour Sauce for the barbecue sauce.

No Preheating Required

A slow cooker should never be preheated. Simply put the stoneware container in the slow cooker base, cover and set the temperature.

Slow Cooker Care

Do not add cold water to slow cooker immediately after use, as this could cause it to crack. Either add warm soapy water or let the slow cooker reach room temperature before cleaning.

We really enjoyed this recipe. I only used 2/3 c. rice and added red pepper as well as green. Ate it as a stew--excellent melding of flavors.

Not enough flavor. Very bland. I wouldn't make this one again.

I did not add the onions, and substituted frozen baby peas for the green peppers. We really enjoyed the flavor! Plus it was very easy! The pork was tender enough that it began to fall apart. Next time I think I will try broc. and add some water chestnuts...

It was very good. I used brown rice instead of white. It got very yummy. Definitely recommend it.

This was an easy recipe to make and very good. I found out after I had it made we did not have rice so I added 1/4 cup chicken broth and 2 tablespoons of flour and thicken the gravy. We had it over rice noodles and everyone loved it and wants it again. It was good.

This was a delicious and simple meal to make for a weekday dinner. I only cooked the pork mixture for 6 hours and the meat was tender and moist. Follow the directions and only put the rice in for 20 minutes or else it will get too mushy. Great meal! Family loves it.
