I HAVE A SIMILAR RECIPE BUT INSTEAD OF BBQ SAUCE I ADD AN ITALIAN HERB SEASONING. (AVIALABLE FROM TUPPERWARE). I ALSO COOK THE MEATBALLS IN THE MICROWAVE, (PLACE IN SINGLE LAYER IN A MICROWAVE COLENDAR, WHICH IS IN A MICROWAVE BOWL, COOK FOR 6-7 MINS TURNING MEATBALLS OVER HALF WAY THRU, PLACE ON A COOKIE SHEET FLASH FREEZE IN FREEZER FOR APPROX 1/2 HR. THEN FREEZE IN AIR TIGHT CONTAINER.

I tried this recipe because we enjoy BBQ. Neither my hubby or I were happy with it. I can see how it would be a hit for kids though! On another note, I would not suggest this recipe for Italian meatballs or anything Italian. The idea is fine, but the ingredients need changing. Most of my meatballs are made in the sauce, then frozen separately. I do make tiny meatballs in the oven for soups. They are a great addition to your soups ... and a way to make to storemade soup more your own!

if i made this recipe i would add onions. i have been making meatballs for many many years, and have tried different recipes, but this is the first one i have read that didn't include onions. and old saying goes, every good cook uses onions.

Very good!! I also make it with spaghetti sauce instead of the BBQ sauce. Good with cream of mushroom soup too, for a strogenoff recipe!
