I used fresh apples pick off my tree! very easy to make and great to eat with vanilla ice cream!
This pie was a hit!! The recipe was easy to follow and the crust even turned out perfectly! Everyone is waiting for me to make more now!
This was great! My husband loved it and always asks me to make it for him, will defently do it again and again.
If I ever make this recipe again, I would leave out the nutmeg. It's too strong a spice to use with fruit. It's okay with vegtable fillings like pumpkin pie but never use it with fruit filling. Brush the crust with milk, then sprinkle with sugar to get a great looking and tasting crust.
Not bad, although I would recommand a different crus: 3 cups of flour, 2 cups vegetable shortening and water as needed. Of course, this depends on the size of your bakeform.
I loved this recipe although next time I won't use Granny Smith apples. They were too tart even with the sugar and once you add the lemon juice it becomes more tart. Next time I will use Golden Delicious apples. I also used brown sugar instead of regular sugar. Awesome! If you don't have time to do your own crust buy the Pillsbury one that you roll out. Easy as pie!
I am 14 years old and this recipe was easy enough for me to make it myself to surprise my family. It was delicious. Positively the best pie I have ever made. The crust was very good and it came out perfect!!!!

Superb, I have seen a lot of apple pie recipes and tried them...the crust is great and flaky---I love cinnnamon so naturally i added more I think it works better! Serve it with ice cream YUM! What I like to do with the leftover crust (works well), I take it roll it out, cut 1" strips slightly curved around the edges, roll them up with lot of Cinnamon and sugar, bake them a little less than the pie, They are now "Cinnamon Swirl Roses" yum yum! Almost as good as the pie itself
