I thought this was an excellent dessert. I made if for Christmas. I had Libby's easy pumpkin pie mix on hand instead of just pumpkin puree so I skipped the pumpkin pie spice. I also skipped the caramel topping and pecans and sifted some powdered sugar on top.

looked aS good as it tasted. Held up to be taken to a dinner at church. Was a hit. I would perhaps use less cool whip to get better texture in filling.

This cake was excellent. I made it for Thanksgiving Dinner. I went exactly by the directions. No ommissions or substitutions. Great Cake!!

The recipe was great! My mother now wants me to make this for every holiday. I found that using the toothpicks to guide cutting the cake more of a hindrance, I find using string or unflavored dental floss much better.

This dessert was fun to make. Very delicious and really better the next day and the day after that,etc. I would definitely make this again.
