This was a delicious dessert. Easy to make low fat verson of apple crisp.The cool whip is a nice compliment to this dessert.

I put 1 tsp cinnamon in the topping of vanilla wafers, and only 3 tsp in with apples. Dessert went over quite well.

It was delicious! I took to my family's for Thanksgiving and everyone LOVED it. It took me a long time to prepare it though. Maybe after I make it a few more times I will get better at it. Definately worth doing again!

Four teaspoons of cinnamon seems well over the top to me. Too much cinnamon can surely ruin a dish. I use only about one and a half teaspoons for an apple pie. The original recipe for an apple betty beats this recipe by a mile.

I have found dessert recipes using Vanilla Wafers or Nilla Wafers to be lacking in sophistication, substance and taste.

The taste was ok, but not worth the trouble at all to much elbow grease for not such a excellent result. I fridged overnight and the next day it was extra dry.

The topping was different from most that I make. It was much richer with the cream cheese.
