I halfed the recipe because there is only 2 of us eating it. I agree with the others that said it is too salty. I will try this again maybe using less of the onion soup mix and a spicer barbeque sauce. It smelled and looked delicious and turned out tender. Will definitly try again.

I would have given this recipe 4 stars, but it's so incredibly easy, it gets the extra star. At first glance it seemed like it would be too salty, so I used a 2.5 pound pork shoulder and then the second time a 3 pound beef roast (I added a little more barbecue sauce afterwards).

This recipe is wonderful!! I too used 3 lbs of pork and it was awesome. I also tried it with beef instead of pork and it was just as good.

I felt this was way too salty, so I will only use half of the onion soup mix the next time.

Easy to make, I used the full amount of soup onion soup mix, but used just over three pounds of pork shoulder. My boyfriend and I not only enjoyed it, but he also ate the leftovers cold until it was all gone.

I used both soup packages and boy was that a mistake--it was WAY too salty. I don't think I would make this again.

I would make this recipe again, however I would not use any soup mix. I only used one packet and it was way too salty. I think it would be better with just the onion and the BBQ sauce. The pork shoulder came out very vender though.

I agree with "punked" good but not worth the time and energy. I did use both onion pkgs. and it didn't seem salty.

THE 2 PKGS OF SOUP MIX WERE WAY TOO MUCH & THE MEAT TASTED VERY SALTY! I MIGHT MAKE THIS RECIPE AGAIN, BUT WITH MODIFICATIONS : MORE BBQ SAUCE & ONLY ONE PKG OF SOUP MIX.

Excellent - VERY tasty! So quick to prepare -- just toss in the crockpot and it cooks itself. Great for anyone on-the-go, with hungry troops on the home-front.
