I've found it's very difficult to get the filling right. I've also altered it slightly to make the filling only cherries and then used cream cheese icing. Another variation, make with yellow cake mix.

Everyone in my family is a sucker for cherries, especially my father and boyfriend. Had to be careful with the cake batter, it was about to overflow the muffin pan...mine didn't turn out as nice as the ones in the picture, but they were gobbled up the same.

Very, very good. Took a few tries to get the right balance of batter and filling in each cup.

Not bad, but not that impressive, either. My version of this is to bake a chocolate cake, split horizontally, spread cherry pie filling on botton layer, place top layer, and frost with cool whip or homemade whipped cream.

They were very moist. My husband is not a big “chocolate” admirer but he really enjoyed these. They tasted like heaven.

Mmmm... So Yummy! Used a moist cake mix and it turned out perfect. I think this is our new favorite dessert.

awesome cupcakes. my boyfriend ate 7 in one day. ran out of cake mix, wich was frustraing and they didnt hold together very well but i would def make them again! yummmmy!
