For a caramel cinnamon roll try sprikling dry butterscotch pudding between layers of biscuits. This combined with the butter makes a gooey sauce. Also you can use frozen bread dough that thawed overnight, use a scissors to cut into bite-size pieces. To prevent the rolls from getting too crispy cover them with aluminum foil. We have been making the caramel version for Christmas Morning for years.
This recipe was delicious and very easy. Everyone loved it and wanted more! I made it the night before and baked in the next morning. I baked it for 30 minutes in a bunt pan and topped it with some vanilla frosting I had on hand that I heated up in the microwave.
My family loves it. I have made it up ahead overnight and popped it in the oven first thing in the morning.
this is time consuming to make but delicious. my mother cut the biscuits while I rolled the pieces in the cinnamon mixture. i wonder, would a yeast type roll work as well??
Family holiday favorite!
Wow! What a great recipe. I made this for my bible study group. Everyone loved it! There's nothing left! I followed the recipe completly except for the bake time. I baked the bread for 30 minutes instead of the recommended 40-45 minutes. If you're a cinnamon lover, this is a great recipe.
I agree with an earlier posting about the butter making the biscuits a little crispy on the outside. I think I should have been more careful about how long it baked and that might have solved the problem. This was very good, but best served warm and fresh from the oven.
Me & my family love this recipe. It's so tasty. I add a little more butter, cinnamon & sugar, not that needs it, LOL. I also will put a little more sugar in the cream cheese next time to make it a little sweeter. It seems too much like plain ole cream cheese and not a frsoting.
Very very good. I went overboard and dipped each biscuit piece into melted butter before rolling in cinnamon-sugar. I also used a lot more icing! It was a hit with everyone who had it.
My daughter & niece (8 & 10 yrs)made it for breakfast over the holidays. It was gone in 10 minutes! I have made more involved pull apart bread recipes BUT this is the best & SOOOOO simple. The glaze makes it heavenly
