My husband loved it. Use left over mac and cheese from a get together the day before cooked the undrained tomatoes and peas till warm in separate pan, browned hamburger and drained fat, microwaved mac and cheese then combined and added shredded cheese to top. It was so good everyone had seconds even my picky two year old. :)

I have been making this recipe (or variations) for years. My family loves it! I've tried hotdogs or ham for meat and broccoli or green beans for vegies instead of hamburger and peas.

this doesn't sound good. I don't think kids would eat it.

one question: why call this "shipwreck dinner?" --since it's made with meat, why not call it something like "cowpoke," "cowboy?" just wondering. i do make the same dish with tuna. it is delish.

Excellent!!! However instead of using the stewed tomatoes I just added more milk about 2c total and it turned out GREAT!!!!!!

Very good. Quick to make. I used 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables and added more liquid. The family said they loved it and my daughter wanted the recipe to make for her family. Also served with hot sauce.
