pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened

cup sugar

tsp. vanilla

2-1/4

cups flour

1/2

tsp. baking soda

rolls ring-shaped hard candies (44 candies), crushed

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well. Cover. Refrigerate 30 min.

ROLL dough to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut into assorted shapes, using 3-inch cookie cutters. Place on greased baking sheets.

BAKE 10 to 12 min. or until edges begin to brown. Transfer to wire racks; immediately press about 1/2 tsp. of the crushed candies into top of each hot cookie. Cool completely.

How to Crush Ring-Shaped Hard Candies

Separate candies by color. Place one color in resealable plastic bag and crush using rolling pin or meat mallet. Repeat with remaining colors.

Substitute

Substitute 1/3 cup colored sugar for the crushed candies.

I was really disappointed with these cookies, unfortunately. They were completely without taste, even with sprinkles.

This is the first recipe that I have made from Kraft's website that I don't like. The cookies are tasteless. I put sugar crystals on & didn't add to the flavor. Finally, I added icing which made them better. I will keep looking for a better recipe. Sorry!

Dough was very sticky so it was very hard to roll the dough out let alone cut it with cookie cutters.....I will not be making this again!!!!!

I have my cookies in the oven right now. The reason I decided to write this review is because its a good recipe and I want other people to make it. But you need to know that it really does require more flour. What I did was added more flour after I chilled it as I was forming it into a ball before rolling it out. Also, make sure your mat is floured WELL (not lightly like the recipe says). If you do this, you will really like these cookies. They taste great!

One of the best and easiest cutout cookie recipes I have found. This will definitely be my new sugar cookie recipe! Delicious!
