Makes about 3-1/2 doz. or 22 servings, 2 cookies each.

What You Need

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate (6 oz.), broken into pieces

cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter

cup sugar

eggs

1-3/4

cups flour

1/2

tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder

1/3

cup crushed candy canes

Make It

MICROWAVE chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar; mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing until well blended after each addition. Add combined flour and baking powder; mix well. (Dough will be very soft.) Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.

HEAT oven to 350°F. Roll heaping teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place, 2 inches apart, on greased baking sheets.

BAKE 10 to 12 min. or until tops are set. (Do not overbake.) Immediately sprinkle with crushed candy. Cool 1 min. on baking sheets. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week.

Prepare as directed, using BAKER'S Bittersweet Baking Chocolate and increasing sugar to 1-1/4 cups.

This cookie is chocolate heaven !!! Very moist, and the mint just made it even better. They were enjoyed by everyone I shared them with.

I made these for a cookie swap and everyone thought they were very yummy! I was pleasantly surprised how moist they were on the inside (even after a few days of storage). I will definately make these again.

I made this recipe for a cookie swap and got rave reviews. This was easy to make and easy to scoop out and bake as well. The hardest part is getting the crushed candy canes on top! A fun festive treat that others will certainly enjoy!

These are okay. I didn't use the candy canes since I don't like them but the cookies themselves are fine. My children think they're really good. They are easy to make but I did have to let the dough sit for an hour after pulling it out of the refrigerator just so I could work with it. Overall, it's a decent cookie.

This was very simple to make and turns out delicious! I let the dough refrigerate over night so the only suggestion I would make is let the dough sit out for about 30 min. so it can soften enough to easily roll into balls.

This recipe was great! Followed the advice regarding the addition of mint (pulverized candy). I also used a melon-ball tool to shape cookies, instead of rolling by hand. Baking for 10 minutes worked best for me as far as getting the candy to stick to the top of the cookies.

It was a good cookie for the swap. I wound up baking them for 9 minutes, adding the crushed candy cane then putting it back in the oven for another minute so the candy would stay on.

Though the recipe was followed to the letter, after baking. the cookies flattened to thin, lacy-edged disks. To transfer each in one piece from the cookie sheet to the cooling rack was a daunting task. No way did these cookies resemble those firm puffy cookies in the recipe's accompanying photograph. Never again!

These cookies are the best! My whole family loved them. I made them for my husband's x-mas party at work and I ended up having to run to the store for more after my kids tried them. Make sure not to overcook them. If you take them out when the tops first look done the candy sticks better and the centers are gooey.
