I served this desert for my brunch/mommy playgroup and it was meet with rave reviews! You may even have a few new subscribers! The Vanilla Raspberry Povlova was delicious, the ingredients meld together so well! I was able to make everything the night before. After I cooked the meringue (your helpful hints, pg. 9, were very useful), I shut the oven off and left it in there over night. I made pudding mixture and refrigerated over night, too. I washed the raspberries the night before and was able to compile all ingredients just prior to serving. Thanks for a great new reciepe for my dessert repitore. It's now a new staple for our family/friend get togethers!

Liked the taste, but the merguine gets soggy after a while. Also, I like things that can be cooked in 30min or less, and the merguine takes 1hr or so to cook.

My guests loved this desert! I used white chocolate pudding mix instead of vanilla and it was fantastic. This desert makes a beautiful presentation, but falls apart when serving. Any suggestions to getting it off the parchment paper without it cracking all up??

I too, have made this recipe for years. It is the requested "bithday cake" for my oldest daughter, now age 45. It always turns out perfect, & while other fruits are good. Raspberries are the requested ones. Family, friends, pot luck, it is well loved by all.

This came out better than I expected. I used chocolate pudding because that's what I had around the house. The only thing is that mine did not keep to the next day. So next time I will be prepared to eat it all the day I make it :)

I have made this type of dessert for years. Was kind of scared the first time cause I had never made merique before. It turned out great. And to the reader who thinks the gas oven will cause a problem---it won't. I have always had a gas stove. When I did have an electric one it was gone in a month. Love my gas!!!!! This is also good with any flavor puddings and fruits. Whatever is in season works well. Try it and you will do it again and again.

At high altitude it is best to use room temp egg whites, and turn off oven after an hour and leave meringue in to dry overnight, much better drying process!

Is it possible to bake the meringue in an electric toaster oven? My stove uses LP (propane) gas and I think the small toaster oven would be more practical for me. Would appreciate an answer.

First of all, I feel you have an outstanding website and an equally outstanding magazine! Why not just a pastry shell and/or a graham cracker crust?
