This recipe is so easy and the cake is delicious!! My mother in law adds a thin layer of vanilla pudding on top before the cool whip, it adds a little extra something to an already perfect dessert!!

You did not say how much boiling water to use. 4 cups to 2 pkgs. or less?

This is a LONG time family favorite! I am in trouble if I don't make it for my daughters birthday, even though she is married with two daughters of her own. Because her birthday is just before Christmas, keeping it a separate celebration was made easier because this was "her cake"!!!!

Always a crowd pleaser... I use strawberry banana gelatin and it's delicious. I also make my own whipped cream for this recipe. So easy to make. Try it. You won't regret it.

I use dry jello mix in cool whip for more color and flavor. for Christmas, I alternate red and green jello for a holiday feel.

We made this cake in recognition of Breast Cancer Awarness Month. It was a hit! We added 2 drops of the red food coloring to turn it pink. Such an amazing recipe and perfect everytime :)
