I loved this recipe, it's easy to make. I sprayed the pan ,and put a layer of potatoes first, then I layer the beef and veggie in the middle, then topped it with potatoes. I will make it again and again

Easy to make. My husband hates casseroles, but he really dug into this and loved it. He even asked me if we could have it again some time! Next time I will use a little bit bigger casserole dish, as it boiled over in the oven.

I love this recipe. Instead of using beef broth, I used mushroom gravy. A few moore calories but really improves the taste!

I have made this twice in two weeks my family really liked it ALOT! The second time I made it I didn't have the right veggies so I used the Italian blend of frozen veggies and we like to use low fat buttery flavored instant mashed potatoes. Very Yummy!

I am also English.I agree on the fact that a sheppard's pie is made with lamb. With beef it's called a cottage pie in England. The old way of making this recipe is not to use cheese, but cheese in it is very popular over there in England these past many years. There have been so many varies in this recipe over the years, but I think the main idea is to make something that pleases and nourises the entire family. I also agree using a can of mixed vegetables is a slight to the true taste to a yummy dish ,but if it works for you to ensure a meal in a hurry and you don't have time to peel and slice ,then it's better than a burger down at the closest fast food place.
