lb. extra lean ground beef

pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken

medium onion, finely chopped

egg whites

cups water, divided

Tbsp. oil

1/2

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce

tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1/4

tsp. black pepper

Make It

MIX meat, stuffing mix, onion, egg whites and 1-1/2 cups of the water until well blended. Shape into 8 (5-inch) patties.

HEAT oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add patties; cook 6 min. on each side or until cooked through and golden brown on both sides. Drain fat from skillet.

COMBINE barbecue sauce, remaining 1/2 cup water, the Worcestershire sauce and pepper; pour evenly over patties. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook an additional 5 min. or until sauce is slightly thickened and heated through.

Substitute

Substitute ground chicken, ground pork or thawed frozen LOUIS RICH Pure Ground Turkey for the ground beef.

The patties I made fell apart when I flipped them - they were too wet from the water. I would suggest cutting water down and maybe suggest cutting bbq sauce with some steak sauce instead.

THIS WAS SO MOIST AND FULL OF FLAVOR. MY HUSBAND AND KIDS LOVED THIS ONE. I LIKED THE BROWN GRAVY INSTEAD OF THE BBQ SAUCE I MADE BOTH TO SEE WHAT I LIKE BETTER. YUMMY!!!

Very good! I made it with a brown gravy instead of the BBQ. My husband and father-in-law already asked me to make it again. The only thing I would change next time is using a much smaller onion, the taste was a little over powering but other then that it was wonderful and a new family favorite!

The first time that I made this dish, the meat was very mushy. I recommend cutting the water back in the meat mixture to 1 cup. I also added 1 tsp. of flour to the sauce mixture to give it a little thicker texture. My family absolutely loved it when I made it the second time!

This is so easy and oh so delicious! The whole family loved it!! I had never made salisbury steak myself, only bought it frozen. From now on, it will be a new family staple! NO MORE FROZEN!! My husband will make sure of that.

This was a good recipe. It took a little longer for the patties to cook than directed. I didn't care for the sauce however, because the patties weren't cooked all the way, I put the patties in a casserol dish and poured the sauce over them and finished cooking them. They were really good. Next time I make it I think i will make a beef gravy instead of the barbeque. Just a matter of preference. Very simple to make and it makes a ton of food.

I made this recipe with brown gravy instead of the barbecue sauce. My family loved it. It is not often that I can get my whole family(husband and five children) to like what is made for dinner. It is definitly a keeper. The only thing I would do differently is to double the gravy. The more gravy the better.

My family really liked the steaks. The three times we have made it, there has been 8-10 patties!! great as leftovers for sandwichec. the only downfall, the sauce was a bit too tomatoey from the bbq sauce.
