lb. extra lean ground beef

pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken

medium onion, finely chopped

egg whites

cups water, divided

Tbsp. oil

1/2

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce

tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1/4

tsp. black pepper

Make It

MIX meat, stuffing mix, onion, egg whites and 1-1/2 cups of the water until well blended. Shape into 8 (5-inch) patties.

HEAT oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add patties; cook 6 min. on each side or until cooked through and golden brown on both sides. Drain fat from skillet.

COMBINE barbecue sauce, remaining 1/2 cup water, the Worcestershire sauce and pepper; pour evenly over patties. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook an additional 5 min. or until sauce is slightly thickened and heated through.

Substitute

Substitute ground chicken, ground pork or thawed frozen LOUIS RICH Pure Ground Turkey for the ground beef.

The meat had a really great flavor. I was able to fry 9 good size patties out of the 2 lbs called for in the recipe. I froze some of the cooked patties for another meal. I also used a can of beef mushroom gravy instead of the BBQ, water, & worchestshire sauce. A traditional gravy was more accepting to my family, but I do plan on trying the recipe as it is written.

My family loved this recipe. I agree that the meat did need a minute or two longer than suggested to cook all the way through (we ended up microwaving some of them to cook them to well done), but other than that ... it's a great recipe! I did change it around a little just to suit my family's taste a little better, though. I substituted beef / mushroom gravy for the barbque sauce. It tasted more like a meatloaf than salisbury steak to me, but still excellent!

I'd been searching for a really good salisbury steak recipe when I received my weekly email. While looking over the ingredients, I decided to substitute Campbell's Beefy Mushroom Soup in the place of barbeque sauce. I also used Savory Herb Stove Top Stuffing Mix instead of the chicken flavor. I must say, this recipe will be one of my favorites. It was fast, inexpensive, and very tasty. I sorta did a taste test with my friends, and they all agreed that is was really good! They asked for the recipe! Thank you Kraft!!!

My family loves this and it is easy to make. The patties needed more time than suggested to cook through.

Wasn't too bad but was a bit dissapointed. Was not the salisbury flavor I'm use to. It tasted more like fried meatloaf with barbeque sauce. Might be better with a brown gravy to give it more of a salisbury flavor.

This really was very tasty. I skipped the BBQ sauce as well and added a jar of brown gravy. This dish disappeared!

This recipe was excellent. I subsituted some leftover cornbread dressing from the night before and it was still good. I added a few seasonings to taste and it was just delicious.
