Wue had an Appreciation Dinner at our church on 12/30/05 - I was in charge oif the main dish - I made 20 lbs of brisket with this receipe - It waseaten up so fast and they wanted more! Not one person didn't love it! Thank you for such a successful receipe -

I had the family Christmas at my home for the first time this year. I had a brisket in the freezer (had never made a brisket before either) and I really wanted to make something different. When I pulled up this recipe, I knew it was the one. It was incredibly tender and the flavor and aroma was amazing! Everyone loved it and there was absolutely none left for later. This is a keeper.

My first time making a brisket, and it was a success! I did, however, add and remove some ingredients: left out the apricot (not a big fan of very sweet meat) and added some limon juice and Mexican hot sauce, just to taste. And baked it for 4½ to 5 hours. I like to experiment, so I took some of the sauce out of the onions and injected it directly into the meat.

This is definitely a winner!! Cooked it in a crock pot as opposed to the oven....the flavor was wonderful!! Even better as leftovers.

Made this Christmas eve just as written. It was a big hit. Everyone just loved it and it was so tender. I think this may be a new tradition for Christmas eve!!!

Great sauce!! I did change it by putting it in the crockpot, and I'm serving it tonight as shredded beef sandwiches, with onions and peppers sauted and carmelized in some of the very yummy sauce, on crusty rolls. Excellent!
