I agree that this cake was a little complicated. I would of ommited the coffee in the glaze only, but leave it in the cake. It was hard to get the glaze to look pretty and running off the cake. I also lined the strawberries around the top of the cake, I liked that look better.
It was too complicated for me. It turned out looking like an oversized hamburger! I would omit the coffee. I used strawberries and that really helped. Overall, the taste wasn't worth the trouble.
I substituted GFIC Suisse Mocha for the instant coffee giving the dessert a milder coffee taste.
it was a rteral hit at our party, everyone tried it and wanted the recipe, thank for making me look good
I made this for an office party once, and now my colleagues ask for it again and again. I think using a little less coffee for the glaze and covering the top of the cake with fresh raspberries really brings the flavors together. Yum!
my kids and I love chocolate so this cake was very special for us because we make it for a surprise party of 100 people and everybody loved it they ask me where i got the recipe and i told them it was @ thank you
Prep time is a little longer, but it's worth the effort for this delicious & eye appealing cake. I used raspberries for the topping & let the juice drizzle down to mix with the chocolate. Everyone loved it!

I made this cake for a family gathering and it was a huge hit. I omitted the coffee, and it turned out very good. I was asked for the recipe and there was not a crumb left once it was served.
