What You Need

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/2

cup sugar, divided

1/4

tsp. vanilla

egg yolk

tsp. ground cinnamon

slices white bread, crusts removed

Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Mix cream cheese, 1/4 cup of the sugar, vanilla and egg yolk with wire whisk until well blended. In separate bowl, mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon; set aside.

FLATTEN each bread slice with rolling pin. Spread 1 side of each slice evenly with 1 rounded Tbsp. cream cheese mixture. Starting at short end, tightly roll up. Brush each roll with butter; roll in reserved cinnamon-sugar. Slice each roll into 3 pieces.

PLACE each piece, seam side down, on baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 min. or until edges are lightly browned. Serve immediately.

These turned out really well. It was a bit more work than I thought, but they look really elegant and taste great. (Who would guess you use plain ole bread?) I made a total mess out of my kitchen, but was rushing to get to a party and didn't have a rolling pin so I was using a wine bottle :). I'd like to try it again.

This recipe was great. I made dipping icing, which made these irresistable! Dip Recipe: 1c. powered sugar mixed with 6tbsp.milk.

I made these to take to my sister's shower & they were gone in no time! I had many compliments & a few even asked for the recipe. The only thing I changed was I added a little bit more than the 1 Tbsp of the cream cheese mixture. Even after doing that I still had a little bit left over. I will definitely make these again!
