This recipe is awesome for the fact that you can prep it, and forget it for 10 or 15 minutes at a time. I used long grain brown rice instead of instant, and it really brings out a great texture with the chicken stock. I make this recipe almost once a week!
This is one of the recipes I make all the time. It's so easy and tastes great too! I usually use brown rice (which needs a little longer to cook) and low sodium broth.
Made this for the first time tonight and my picky 3 year old loved it! I used Wild Rice, instead of white, and added more green beans and almonds than the recipe called for. Very tasty, and will make again!
Next time I will not saute the meat in the dressing but just in the skillet with non-stick spray. It did not get brown with the dressing and there was a little too much liquid anyway. I also substituted asparagus for the beans which was tasty.
I changed this a little, I am not a fan of instant rice so I cooked the rice and almonds in my rice cooker with the chicken broth added a couple of squirts of Italian dressing, steamed the green beans at the same time. Browned the chicken in the Italian dressing. Then placed the rice then the beans then the chicken on the platter and poured the juice from cooking the chicken over the whole thing. Everyone loved it. I will make this again.
Hubby and 2 picky eaters thought this one was fabulous! I used regular italian dressing (same quantity) and brown rice instead of white rice and it was a little more healthy (i think) and very tasty!
My family really liked this recipe. I thought it had a mild, but very pleasing flavor. Will try marinating meat in advance next time. I liked using thighs as they are more tender than breasts. Very easy to make. I'm sure it's extra yummy w/ fresh beans (I used frozen). Will definitely be making again.
I made this recipe with breasts. I used 1/4 bottle of dressing after reading the reviews. I bought the frozen rice steamers...steamed the rice in the microwave then added to the sauce. My 11 yr old said it was one of the best things I ever made. After all was done, I saw the bag of almonds on the counter. I forgot to add them. I sprinkled them on top of my dish. I would make this again, especially w/ the frozen rice. Saves alot of time.
I followed the recipe with the exception of I used breast instead. I also used the whole can of 14 oz chicken broth and 1/2 cup of alomonds. I will add a few different spices next - But there will be a next time as I really enjoyed it.
