I've made this several times. As written it's very bland. I Think I've tweeked it enough with a few modifications and it's a good fast and tasty meal. I add extra chipotle taco seasoning mix like 50% more. I chop a small to medium onion and cook with the ground beef. I add 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and a 1/2 cup of Taco Bell Restaurant Style Taco sauce to the mix. Sometimes I top with a little shredded cheddar cheese and some crushed potato chips on top and bake in a casserole dish for about 15 minutes. I found it helps to add about 1/3 cup of water to the beef and onion mixture when you add the chipotle taco seasoning and garlic powder. I can't imagine this dish without onion. Not sure why they left it out.
I just made this recipe last night and I added a few things. I added garlic salt and some pepper and a little taco seasoning. And then at the end just before serving, I sprinkled with sharp cheddar cheese and let it melt. It turned out awesome. My husband ate almost all of it. YIKES.
I make this but instead of tomatoes I add a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies. Has a little kick to it.
It was really good alittle plain but added some seasoning and it was perfect! Very easy and fast meal to make, plus the family loved it! Especially my picky 3 yr. old
Super easy to make! I added a little taco seasoning as someone else mentioned and at the end I sprinkled a bit of garlic salt on. Loved it!
This is really easy to make and the leftovers aren't half bad for lunch the next day either. I do recommend adding taco seasoning to the meat before adding it to the mixture for an extra kick. Yum!
We currently have no power because of Hurricane Ike and I was looking for easy recipes to make on our camp stove. This came out soooo good that even my picky husband had three helpings!
My husband loved this one! It was light but hearty and I added frozen peas to the skillet to add color and flavor. This one is one of our new favorites.
I added garlic powder, oregano, onion flakes, and salt and pepper for more flavor. After mixing it all together, I put in a casserole dish, topped it with cheddar cheese and crushed plain potato chips. My twin daughters (who are incredably picky) and my husband loved it! I will definately put this in my recipe box as a keeper!
