I changed this recipe quite a bit. I scooped out two small areas for water hazards and used blue raspberry jello, and put some of the "golf balls" in the water hazards. I frosted the cake in three shades of green...lightest on the actual green and the darker green tints for the rough. I added a small golfer that I found in a party goods store. This cake was such a hit with the golfers in our neighborhood!

I liked this recipe as it was but i made several changes. Nobody except for me likes lime jello, so i changed the jello to berry blue, and i made it like a lake. Then i used dark green icing, and iced the whole cake. I went over some parts to make the greens with lighter green icing, i still used the marshmallows and the flags, and the sand bunker, but i also made tee boxes, i cut circular fruit snacks in half! this recipe was so cool my little brother loved it! thanks!

Have you ever seen a grown man jump up and down and clap his hands in delight? Want to? Make your hubby this cake for his birthday. Mine is a golf freak and let me tell you, he enjoyed the cake more than his gifts and considering I bought him an Xbox, that's pretty crazy! He was so happy with this cake I got out of doing the dishes....ON HIS BIRTHDAY. Keep coming up with the great ideas, the more times I don't have to do dishes the better lol.

I did a variation of this cake. For my son's first birthday we had a "Cowboy" themed party. Instead of a GOLF look, I used plastic farm animals (pigs, cows, horses) and blue jello. I cut a "lake" out of one side of the cake only and put some crumbs (or feed) on the other side and had the animals "eating" the feed or had the pigs rolling in the "mud" (chocolate icing) Oh, and I shortened the recipe by using Chocolate Frosting instead. Everyone who seen the cake was amazed that I did this on my own. I had even posted pics of it in one of my online groups and they were all amazed as well! This is an AWESOME, easy to do, FUN cake with AWESOME results!!!!

Made this for my husband's birthday/Father's Day. My "trees" didn't look so great but otherwise it turned out well. Fun and easy to make. The grandchildren thought it was great looking cake for their golfer granddad.
