Our Best Chocolate Cheesecake

What You Need

OREO Cookies, crushed (about 1-1/2 cups)

Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

cup sugar

tsp. vanilla

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces, melted, cooled

eggs

cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

1-1/2

cups mixed seasonal fresh fruit (chopped strawberries, sliced kiwi)

Make It

HEAT oven to 325°F.

MIX cookie crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan. Bake 10 min.

BEAT cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with mixer until well blended. Add chocolate; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended. Pour over crust.

BAKE 45 to 55 min. or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim. Refrigerate 4 hours. Top with COOL WHIP and fruit.

How to Bake in 13x9-inch Pan

Prepare as directed, substituting a greased foil-lined 13x9-inch pan for the springform pan and reducing the baking time to 40 to 45 min. or until center is almost set. Use foil handles to remove chilled cheesecake from pan before cutting to serve.

Note

If using a dark nonstick 9-inch springform pan, reduce oven temperature to 300°F.

I've always been a little apprehensive about making a cheesecake. This was actually a very easy recipe to make. One thing to remember though is that this is a multiple step process. It requires you to melt down the chocolate, slice fruit, etc. Also, strawberry Cool Whip may be unavailable. You can make your own by juicing strawberries. But, be sure to apply immediately after combining the strawberry juice with the Cool Whip.

I made this for the first time for Easter. It was so easy and came out great. I loved it. It's great for those of us who love chocolate. It was a hit and I will most certainly make this again!

I baked this as one of 2 Easter desserts for a group meal. WONDERFUL. Used French Vanilla Cool Whip, and piped it on top, then decorated center with fresh strawberries. Attractive and rave reviews. USE THE VIDEOS for this cake and cheesecakes. NO CRACKS AT ALL.

I used regular cool whip, sprinkled with green confectioners sugar, and placed a chocolate bunny in the middle. Then I tossed on a few jelly beans and some colored sprinkles. It turned out very festive for Easter. The kids loved it and so did the grown-ups! I will use this recipe again.

YUM,YUM! I USUALLY OPT FOR THE NO BAKE JELLO CHEESECAKE, BUT I DARED TO MAKE A HOMEMADE CHEESECAKE, AND IT WAS A HIT. IF I HAD A QUESTION, I JUST LOOKED UP THE VIDEO AND IT WAS REALLY EASY...I'M NOT SCARED TO MAKE THIS CHEESECAKE AGAIN AND AGAIN. 5 STARS FROM THE FAMILY!

this cake was fabulous...........it had so much of taste in it........i wish to eat this cake everyday......it was very YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!all of my family members loved it................i made it in a party and people loved it.....every one loved this cake..........good job to the person who invented this cake............GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!
