This was the best pasta salad I've had in a long time. Not your everyday ho-hum salad. It was so good that I'm making it for a party I'm having this weekend. I know it will be a big hit.
I hate the traditional spring salad. This one is a LOT better!!! I usually just buy the 20oz tortellini package & it still coats up nicely. Normally, I'll mix up the sauce in a small bowl, and the other ingredients in a large bowl - then chill seperately.Then I'll mix them together just before serving - makes it so the tortellini doesn't absorb the dressing & is much creamier & more tasty!! I make this one often - especially for my boys' family birthday parties when I have a lot of people!
I have made this recipe for a couple of years now. The last time by accident I used the ranch dressing mix, but I thought it was even better! People always look forward to me making this for big gatherings.
I made this for our housewarming party and everyone loved it. I also used 20 oz of pasta, but everything still coated well. I used a zesty Italian dressing and that added some good flavour, too. I like the idea of a red pepper; I think I'll try that next time. Delicious!
The salad was good, although it was stated that the Italian Dressing was a little strong. The next time I make this I am going to try it with Ranch Dressing.
I ended up buying a 20 ounce package of tortellini instead of using the 2 9-ounce packages, so there wasnt enough dressing. But even so, it had good flavor and next time I'll use the correct amount of pasta!! Good recipe!
I made this for a family gathering/picnic. It was a big hit. My husband and son really enjoyed it and wanted asked me to make it again. I followed the tip to add some onion. I'm making it again today for a friend's party. It's very easy too.
I used the parmesan italian dressing mix and added grated parmesan. I have also made it with diced ham and crisp bacon and served it warm for an entree pasta. Great both ways!
I added red pepper for color and used about 3/4 of the dressing, it was wonderful and very fresh tasting. I hit.
