Moist Caramel Apple Cake recipe
Inspired by a childhood favorite, this recipe reinvents the caramel apple as a cake, with fresh, tangy chopped apples baked into a treat that’s a whole lot easier to eat.

This cake was a big hit. I used vanilla yogurt in place of the oil and only used 3 eggs, I also used carmel ice cream topping instead of fussing with unwrapping carmels.

best with vanilla ice cream

Being allergic to cinnamon causes finding recipes for apple deserts almost impossible. This was a wonderful fix for my craving. If you don't like the texture, try shredding the apples in a food processor. Also, when the cake starts getting soggy, we break it up and serve it over vanilla ice cream. PS...walnuts are a great addition to this recipe!

I've made this cake 3 times. First time for the church potluck it disappeared quickly. Second time for my daughters girlscout bake sale. It was the first sold. I made it Friday for the family and by Saturday evening it was gone. I added nuts to the mix. So now it is a nutty caramel apple cake.

Excellent! We enjoy this cake without the caramel topping.

I was making this recipe and I already had the box of cake mix open when I realized that it had pudding in the mix. Rather than throw away everything, I made it any way. It was supermoist. Also, instead of using the caramels, I used caramel sundae topping that comes in a squirt bottle. I put it on each slice as I served it to avoid having the cake get soggy.

I made this easy cake for some gal friends last night and it was a big hit with coffee or hot tea. Looks good too. When my hubby got home from work he loved it. I will be making it again soom.

Everyone raved about this dessert! It is moist, presents well and has some texture. We love it, have made it twice. Really need to promote greasing the bottom of the bunt pan, 1st time it stuck.
