Followed the recipe exactly and the meat was way to tangy and so were the vegetables. This was a waste of a perfectly good chuck roast ... will not make again.

I really liked the roast. It had great flavor, and was really tender. But the vegetables really soaked up the dressing and were way to tangy. Next time I will try cooking them seperately.

This was my first foray at making pot roast (any type) and it came out very well. The meat wasn't as tender as I would have liked, but that probably had more to do with the cut that I used. Good traditional pot roast recipe.

The recipe was very easy to make; however, I did not care for the combination of Catalina dressing and roast beef. I have never had Catalina dressing before making this recipe and am not sure I like it. I am going to try one of the Catalina chicken recipes before deciding.

This is a really good and cheap pot roast recipe. I change the recipe a little bit when I made... I mad mine in a crock pot!!! It takes about 4 hour in a crock pot.... But really good ;-)

This recipe was so easy and so good. The only thing was that I didn't brown my potatoes before simmering so I will do that next time. I will use less Catalina dressing too for my family it overpowered the vegetables. I also added some mushrooms to it. The meat just fell apart. It is more tender this way then cooking it in the crockpot. I use the crockpot a lot and the meat is pretty tender but I couldn't believe how fast this cooked on simmer. I also added some red pepper flakes to the sauce to kick it up a little. Family loved it
