I baked it with the shake and bake and it was way to salty. I baked it again with plain bread crumbs and it turned out great. My whole family likes it.
it just did not have a good flavor.
Made this last night. I used Tilapia rather than the recommended fish and it was wonderful. The potatoes were not as crispy/crunchy as I would have liked but my picky boyfriend loved it. We squeezed some lemon juice over the fish and added a salad and loved our less than 400 calorie FULL meal. Trust me we were STUFFED afterwards. Ive been asked if I can make it again tomorrow! I totally recommend!
Easy to make recipe, I used whiting. Delicious, my husband I both enjoyed it. I used some lemon juice on my serving. I did not make the potatoes. I will definitely make this recipe again.
I cut out the mayo; the Shake N Bake sticks fine to the fish without it. This recipe is amazing!
Very delicious! I cooked the potatoes a few min in the microwave before putting them in the oven to save a bit of cooking time and to get crunchier chips. The fish also freezes and reheats pretty well.
My boyfriend and I LOVED the fish. I used mayo instead of miracle whip and I used cod instead but it had such wonderful flavor. The potatoes I could have done without - they were okay but if I made them again I would use regular size potatoes and not baking potatoes. Baking potatoes were too big and made too many portions.
the fish came out tasting good, but was stuck to the broiler and not crispy at all, and the potatoes were not cooked all the way thru. I even cut them into more than the recommended 8 pieces. We could not eat the potatoes, and I also cooked them longer than the 20 minutes. I do not think 20 minutes in the oven is long enough for the potatoes.
I have made this numerous times, with different twists. It easily scales up and down for people, and you can buy frozen fish when it's on sale, and thaw it for dinner. Don't try tilapia, though - it's too oily. Cod is my personal favorite!
I have made this recipe before with cod but made it this time with halibut. My family (including my 5 and 6 year old) preferend the halibut although it was tasty with both fish. Will definately make it again!
