eh. I only used sweet potatoes and I can think of much better ways to prepare them. They don't get crispy, so they aren't at all like french fries. My kids wouldn't eat them.
They aren't the best snack ever, but they were so easy and fun to eat. I served them with different dipping sauces, and that went over very well. It's a perfect recipe if you want a more substantial snack food, and it's nice to know they're baked instead of fried.
I added paprika to this recipe to tang it up. Sweet potatoes do not get as crispy as white potatoes so do not be disappointed if they aren't.
My husband and I loved it!! He likes these a whole lot better than fried potatoes. The flavor was superb. Probably because I brushed on extra dressing half-way through cooking time.
They didn't get done even after 40 -45 mintues in the oven, they were bland and the taste of the italian dressing is just not meant for a husband and I BOTH dispised these!
So easy to make and very tasty, too.
I enjoyed these. My husband, not so much. He doesn't care for sweet potatoes. I only gave them four stars because I wish they had a little bit more flavor.
I really enjoyed- I only rated good because my husband and son don't like sweet potatoes and this didn't change their mind. They preferred the white potatoes.
This is a great recipee. I usually do just sweet pot. because they get eaten more. I do adjust it slightly. I mix the italian dressing and cheese on top of the potatoes (I shake them in a container) and then stick them in the oven. I also coat the pan with baking spray. I make sure the fries look well coated- if not I ad more of the dressing and cheese. They turn out AWESOME!
This recipe sounded and looked great, but ended up being a huge let down. I had to cook the potatoes much longer to get them soft enough to eat, and they ended up dry. The dressing dripped off the potatoes and burned the pan. And I guess I used the wrong parmesean, but it just ended up very hard. The baking potatoes tasted much better than the sweet, but the sweet potatoes tasted better outside of their very 'crispy' skins.
