I thought this was dreadful. I will not be making this again. I feel like I wasted some good ingredients making a sub-par recipe. Although I was prepared for this dish to be on the drier, not so creamy side, I was not prepared for the combination of dry and bland. I am not going to waste time trying to tweak this one. It goes straight in the 'never make again' pile.
Cream cheese and ranch dressing; how could this not be delicious? Wonderful side.
My husband LOVES this casserole. It reheats great, but he doesn't mind eating it cold. I couldn't believe I could find a delicious recipe using ingredients that needed to be rescued (ranch dressing, tub cream cheese - and we ALWAYS have frozen spinach on hand). I even made it for Thanksgiving and it was gobbled down!!!
I was a little disappointed with this dish. I love spinach and the ingredients sounded good with the exception of the ranch dressing, but I think the spinach got lost in this dish. I found it very heavy for a side dish and on the dry side. I would not make this dish again. Sorry.
I made this for an extra side dish for Thanksgiving. We all wanted something a little different. It was very tasty but was also very rich. I think next time I will not put crackers on the top and will serve this as a spinach dip appetizer. I will make it again!
This recipe was excellent, I will definitely make it again. I did substitute the Ritz crackers with French Fried Onions and was so happy with the way it turned out. Leftovers are great whisked in with an egg and scrambled!
I indicated that I would make this recipe again; but, only with modifications. Everyone seemed to like it; however, it was too dry. I expected it to be creamy. I will only use crackers on the topping and I will use garlic and more milk.
This was well liked at a family gathering. I added spices - black pepper, garlic powder, and dill. I would not, however, call the consistency "creamy" it was more casserole-ish, meaning more cakey (as in bound together) than creamy.
This is a family favorite. So many people told me they don't like spinach except in this recipe. And even though it makes 12 servings, there are hardly any leftovers with just 4 people...
whenever I do special cooking this is my son's favorite and will always ask me to make it for him...he was living away from home for awhile and we would get to bring dishes for Sunday lunch pop luck, he always asked for theis...
