I have made chocholate pecan pies before but never with caramel. It was great! Most chocholate pies are too 'chocholatey', the caramel gave it a great balance. I will definately make this pie again!

Although the taste of this recipee was surperb, it was a fight to get it cut. The carmel set up like concrete and did not soften as it can to room temperature. I will definately use the chocolate base again, but will probably use a premade carmel sauce drizzled over the top.

This was superb. I made it for Thanksgiving and it was gone fast! Very rich!

I made this recipe and followed the directions carefully. It was delicious, however the caramel was so hard, we could not cut the pie to serve it. It made the pie difficult to eat. I would not use so many caramels next time.

This was a huge hit! So rich and delicious. I took the advice of one of the reviewers and used caramel syrup instead- great idea. Absolutely decadent and EASY!!!

After reading the varied comments on this recipe I wasn't sure if I should risk it or not for Thanksgiving. I'm so glad I did!! It turned out perfectly and all I got were rave reviews. My only regret is that I had to leave the remaining pie at my sister's house and couldn't take it home with me! Fantastic.

It was way too rich and the filling was really, really hard to spread and hard to cut into. It tasted ok, but next time attempt it I will try to find a way to make the chocolate softer. If you are looking for it to look like the picture, no way.

Absolutely horrible! The filling is so darn hard no one could cut it and I will never, ever make it again!

I have made this pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. It is easy and fun to make, and even more fun to eat. It is now a requirement for all family get togethers! If you are into caramel,chocolate, and pecans, this is a dream come true.
