I miss read the amount of chocolate to use. I thought it said 8 oz not 8 squares. I only had 4 oz of chocolate, so I added an extra cup of chocolate chips. Everyone loved it. I was even asked for the recipe, that is when I noticed the mistake. I told them about my mistake and they said that is how they would make it.

FIRST, THE RECIPE CALLS FOR 1 - 8OZ TUB OF COOL WHIP, BUT IN THE DIRECTIONS IT SAYS TO ADD 2 CUPS (16OZ) OF COOL WHIP TO CHOCOLATE AND TO SET ASIDE THE REMAINING COOLWHIP FOR TOPPING. THE PIE WAS VERY BITTER WHEN USING ONLY 1 - 8OZ TUB LIKE THE RECIPE CALLS FOR. IT WAS A EXPENSIVE PIE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY FAMILY WOULDN'T EAT IT.

My family and I really like this recipe. I used sugar free caramel topping instead of the candy. And I used light cool whip and a reduced fat pie shell. Even though it was really rich I didn't feel so guilty. I will definetly make this again.

Living in Hawaii I substituted Macadamia Nuts instead of Pecans. Everyone loved it and I couldn't believe how easy it was to make!

The caramel was very hard to cut through, maybe using caramel syrup would work better.

This is the best chocolate pie I have ever tasted! It turned out perfectly and it tasted amazing! My fiance, who isn't a fan of pecans, loved this pie. Everyone in your family will enjoy this recipe!

Very rich tasting and delicious! I've made this with the Oreo crust- very yummy! I get asked for this recipe all the time!

The taste is fabulous, but if I make it again I will try caramel syrup instead of the individually wrapped carmels. We had to use knives to cut through the carmel/crust and it was so hard to chew!
