PHILLY Brownie Cheesecake

What You Need

pkg. (19 to 21 oz.) brownie mix (13x9-inch pan size)

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

cup sugar

tsp. vanilla

1/2

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

eggs

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Make It

HEAT oven to 325°F.

PREPARE brownie batter as directed on package; pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 25 min. or until top is shiny and center is almost set.

MEANWHILE, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended. Gently pour over brownie layer in pan. (Filling will come almost to top of pan.)

BAKE 40 min. or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen sides; cool. Refrigerate 4 hours.

MELT chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cheesecake. Refrigerate 15 min. or until chocolate is firm.

Everytime I make this recipes I always get rave reviews. I cut up the cake into bit size pieces and placed them into muffin liners for ease at gatherings. 1st time I made them everyone asked what bakery did I get them from.

This is a favorite for us who love chocolate & cheesecake!!! It's a family favorite. Take your time and don't overcook the brownies.

I've made this a couple of times and it has always turned out well. It isn't my favorite, but it fills a craving for two different groups with the brownie and the cheesecake. I've even made it in 2 8X8's and I've frozen one after. I had to cut my cook time slightly, but I just had to pay attention. Follow the directions and don't over cook it and you won't be disappointed. If your oven temperature may be off, get a thermometer and it will be just fine. Most bad reviews I've seen have been from people who have overcooked it and that is the error of the cook, not the recipe.

I was a little dissapointed here. I have made MANY cheesecakes in my day so I found this one and thought it sounded delicious and fairly simple. I bought the ingredients and then started having second thoughts so I came and read the reviews. A lot of the reviews were negative and I wish I could come here and disagree with them but I can't. The brownie was like a chocolate brick and ANYONE who has ever made cheesecake knows this much could never bake in 40 minutes. Even a small cheesecake takes an hour at least. I ended up baking it for about an hour and half, probably what caused the brownies to be so firm but I had to bake the cheesecake through. In the end the top was delicious the bottom went in the trash, I probably will never attempt this recipe again...

I made this recipe tonight to bring up to my boyfriend's mothers for Easter. i haven't tried it yet but it looks & smelled great! i left the sour cream out and everything still came out fine. i will be making this again especially if it is a hit this weekend!

I have made these several times and each time they are fantastic!I made them when I visited family and they were fighting over them!The drawback to the recipe is the cheesecake top separates from the brownie bottom when you go to serve them.This makes them difficult to store.

LOVE IT!!! really good, my sister in law even asked me to make ´em for her wedding! I chanded the chocolate drizzle for a Nutella swirl before baking ´em, it looks sooo beautiful! its a keeper!
