PHILLY Brownie Cheesecake

What You Need

pkg. (19 to 21 oz.) brownie mix (13x9-inch pan size)

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

cup sugar

tsp. vanilla

1/2

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

eggs

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Make It

HEAT oven to 325°F.

PREPARE brownie batter as directed on package; pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 25 min. or until top is shiny and center is almost set.

MEANWHILE, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended. Gently pour over brownie layer in pan. (Filling will come almost to top of pan.)

BAKE 40 min. or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen sides; cool. Refrigerate 4 hours.

MELT chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cheesecake. Refrigerate 15 min. or until chocolate is firm.

I made this cake for a church dinner. I followed the directions to the exact "T" and the cheesecake did not turn out. The edges were done around the cake but the center was not. I wound up throwing half of the cake away.

This recipe is very good but be careful to follow the diercts because if you don;t it can be to sweet or to stick and hard to cut

I made this recipe for thanksgiving and it was a big hit . The rest of the left over chocolate i made chocolate cover cherries and strawberries. DELICIOUS!! :)

Big hit for Christmas. I would bake the cheesecake part 5 minutes less so it's not so dry. But very good!

really really good. The only thing I suggest is letting the brownies bake a little longer than directed. Other than that , this is yummy

I made this lastyear for thanksgiving and it was a huge hit. I had absolutely no prblems. I had always heard how daunting a cheesecake is to make but it seperated from the side of the pan and stuck to brownie. The chocolate I drizzled on top looked a little funny, but who cares it tasted great.

I made this recipe for a bake sale, and it was a huge success. My items were the first to sell out. I did not have any of the issues that other people have mentioned--mine turned out just fine. I did use the non-stick foil and rinsed my knife with hot water between cuts as some had suggested, and those two things seemed to help. I had many compliments and requests for the recipe.

I did not have a problem with the brownie sticking to the pan. But the brownie part has a hard time sticking to the cheesecake part. Maybe I baked it for too long before I poured the cheesecake in.
